How can I renew my child's UK passport?

If it's time to renew your child's UK passport, there are several ways you can approach this process. You could use the services provided by the UK government to handle the application yourself, or you could entrust a company like Documents and Visas to take care of this work for you.

Whichever route you choose, you will be required to abide by strict guidelines before the updated passport can be returned to you.

Why should I turn to Documents and Visas to renew my child's passport?

Sometimes, it can be difficult to get together all the paperwork and authorisation needed to start the UK passport renewal process, which could seriously hamper the speed of your application. Here at Documents and Visas, we are experienced in helping our clients to renew a child's UK passport, efficiently and with the minimum of fuss.

We can provide an initial consultation, advice on visas and a pre-checking service before your application is sent to the relevant government department. We will deal with the department on your behalf, giving you one less thing to worry about.

It is important to note that while our passport renewal service normally comes with two processing options – Fast Track, which involves the application being processed within seven days, and Premium, whereby the application is processed by the next day – only the Fast Track option is available for the processing of a child passport application. Furthermore, only 32 pages can be specified for a child passport.

What do I need to start the renewal process?

Whether you come to us or go through the Government’s renewal process yourself, the details that you will have to provide to renew your child's UK passport will be largely similar.

If you decide to let us deal with your application on your behalf, you will have to provide a recent and approved photograph of your child, along with their current, old passport and a letter of authorisation that will allow us to deal with the relevant department on your behalf.

Browse our website today, including our comprehensive UK passport renewal page, to learn more about the documents that you will need to provide us with to maximise the likelihood of an approved child passport renewal application.
